All the above information were previously collected by Whatsapp, the only notable new change is their transparency about sharing their information with Facebook and third party. Paava kadhaigal – Review, A Must Watch

Paava kadhaigal is a Tamil edition Netflix anthology mini-series (each episode has a different story) with four episodes, each less than 40min duration. Paava kadhaigal was released on 18th December 2020, after the release of the official teaser on 27th November 2020, and the official trailer on 3rd December 2020. It is currently streaming in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and in English. Paavai kadhaigal is a criticism on irrelevant social norms and social stigmas that causes pride, sin, prejudice, honour and hostility which inturn affects relationships. The title track “Kanne Kanmaniye” preceding the four-episodes creates a melancholic uneasy feel in the viewers, the red colour in the title song shows the transformation of a daughter from childhood to marriage, the song creates a rough picture on what to expect in the coming four episodes. Here is a short review of each episode.

Thangam

The first episode among the four is “Thangam” directed by “Sudha Kongara”. The story is about a trans villager who has been excluded by the public, faces bullying and attack from the village Hooligans. Actor Kalidas Jayaram as ‘Sathar’ a Muslim trans woman, gave a wonderful performance. His character is successful in showing a transgender’s identity crisis and emotional feeling of hurt. The story takes place in a small town in Kovai district. The background music in this episode intensifies the emotions in the story. The story mainly focuses on the social stigmas and taboos on transgenders and intercaste marriage.

Love Panna Uttranum

“Love Panna Uttranum” is directed by “Vignesh Shivam”. The story is about a village landlord Veerasimman(Padam Kumar) seemingly having a negative view on love relationships and marriage, which causes fear in his two daughters Aadhilekshmi and Jothilekshmi. They also feel restricted from telling their father about their relationship. The story portraits conservative thinking of village people, it also shows the lifestyle differences in a village and town. Unlike the other three episodes, this story has a happy ending with brilliant humour.

Vaanmagal

“Vaanmagal” was directed by predominant Tamil cinema director and actor “Gautham Menon”. The story is about sexual abuse faced by “Ponnuthaayi”, the youngest daughter in a middle-class family. Satya(Gautham Menon) and Mathi(Simran), the middle-class couples, and their three children Bharath, Vaidehi and Ponnuthaayi, are playing the key roles in this story. Both Gautham Menon and Simran show their stunning performance. This story projects guilt, anger and social stigmas in the family in an intensive sensible way.

Oor Iravu

“Oor Iravu” was directed by “Vertrimaaran”. Similar to that of “Thangam” and “Vaanmagal”, “Oor Iravu” is also an emotionally disturbing episode. The story focuses on Sumathi (Sai Pallavi) and Hari (Harikrishnan) who loves each other, eloped and alienated from her family. When Pregnant Sumathi went back to her family for her baby shower, her father Janakiraman(Prakash Raj) shows hostility towards her. This story illustrates the stigmas of intercaste marriage with a tragic end.

Conclusion

All four episodes are based on socially relevant issues mostly found in a country like India. This series portraits how Sin and social stigmas restrict one’s personal choices and interests. Even though we are in the 21st century, most of rural India is not likely to accept transgenders, gays or lesbians as normal humans. Lower cast people are still considered as low in their status, even though they have a good education and high collar jobs. Intercaste marriage is considered a sin by society.

The courage to take such sensitive themes and successfully organise it in an awesome way is quite appreciated. This series allows us to break our limits of thinking, and can also create a deep painful scar in our heart. Under the direction of Sudha Kongara, Gautham Menon, Vetrimaaran and Vignesh Shivan and the excellent performances of the cast: Kalidas Jayaram, Shantanu Bhagyaraj, Bhavani Sre, Anjali, Kalki Koechlin, Padam Kumar, Simran, Gautham Menon, Aadhitya Bhaskar, Prakash Raj, Sai Pallavi and Hari Krishnan, made Paava Kadhaigal a best-rated mini-series.

Soorarai Pottru is a Tamil movie directed by Sudha Kongara released by prime video on 12 November 2020. Soorarai pottru comes under the action-drama genre. The movie revolves around a man nedumaaran rajangam who dreams of making every common people fly and the obstacles he had to overcome in order to reach his goal. He dreams of running a lowcost aeroplane so that even poor people from the rural areas of the country can experience the feel of flying. One of the most appreciable thing in this movie is the casting. Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Urvashi, Paresh Rawal, Mohan Babu had done sincere performance in this movie.

The plot of the movie is inspired by Captain G.R Gopinath, founder of Air Deccan. His role is played by Suriya (Nedumaaran Rajangam/Maaran) in an extraordinary manner. The bommi-maaran relationship is a major strength of the movie.
The film clearly shows the domination of Capitalists over the common people. It also shows how the Capitalist egos crush the big dreams of common people.

Company refurbished certified laptops like these can run software like AutoCAD pretty smoothly.

Nearby Share, How to Activate?, The New Airdrop Equivalent for Android

Google recently rolled out its Nearby share feature, which lets you share files between android device without any trouble seamlessly. The android community has long been asking for an Android equivalent for IOS feature Airdrop. This announcement came not long after the government of India banned the two most used file transfer apps used here in India.

How Nearby Share Works

With Nearby Share, Android users can quickly share files to nearby users with the tap of a button. After tapping the “share” button in an app, users can share file(s) by selecting the “Nearby Share” option. Nearby users will then get a notification that someone wants to share content with them. Users will always have the option to “accept” or “decline” the file, so files are never transferred without explicit confirmation. After tapping “accept”, the file(s) are transferred using the best available communication protocol: Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, WebRTC, or peer-to-peer WiFi. Thus, files can be shared even when the sender and recipient devices are both fully offline.

Nearby share works only if your contact is in the recipient’s phone, also we can change the visibility to a specific contact to further improve privacy.

Google announced that the nearby share functionality will roll out to Android users on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and above through a google play service update. As of now, nearby share is available only for google play service beta users.

Set Up C Compiler On Your Windows 10 Desktop Using WSL (For CS Students)

With the release of WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux), we can install a Linux machine inside windows itself without going through the hassle of setting up a virtual machine or dual booting.

You can run the Ubuntu terminal inside windows just like you open an app.

Before we begin installing WSL make sure you are running on windows 10 version 1607 or above, to check your version press WINDOWS + R which opens the run dialogue, type in winver and press enter.

Mine is version 2004 so I will proceed with the installation if you don’t have the recommended minimum version go to settings and update to the latest version of Windows 10.

First step is to run windows Powershell as an administrator and run the following command and press enter

Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux

After the command has been completed do a system restart

After your PC is booted up open Windows PowerShell as administartor once again and run the following commands one after the other

dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:VirtualMachinePlatform /all /norestart
dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux /all /norestart

After the commands has been completed do a system restart

Now we are ready to install Ubuntu, the easiest and intended way to install Ubuntu is to go to the microsoft store and search for and download Ubuntu.

After it is downloaded, Install and open it

Set Up a Username and password for your Ubuntu System (The password won’t show while you are typing)

Now we’ll install our compiler, for that run the following command and enter your password when prompted.

sudo apt install gcc

When prompted with this: “Do you want to continue? [Y/n]” type y and press enter

It’s Going to take a while. After it is done, your C compiler is ready,

Do your C program in the text editor of your choice, I recommend sublime text or Visual Studio Code. For this article I will use Notepad.

Save the file as yourname.c , the next step is to compile the program, for that open the folder that contains the C file and Hold down on shift key and right click on the mouse. You’ll see an option “Open Linux Shell Here” clicking on it will open up Ubuntu.

Now type in the following commands to compile your program, the syntax should be ” gcc yourname.c ” and to run the program ” ./a.out ” . In this case the command is

Xiaomi also stated in their launch event that the laptops will come with mi quick share which lets you transfer files between your PC and your android smartphone quickly.

The Mi notebook 14 has a 14-inch full HD thin-bezel display, it is powered by a 10th Gen intel core i5 processor and optional Nvidia Geforce MX250 with 2GB of VRAM and 8GB of DDR4 Ram, it has a maximum of 512GB SATA SSD storage, the laptop lacks a webcam due to the thin bezels. Talking about the battery Xiaomi claims a 10 hour usage time under normal conditions and the laptop has fast-charging. The laptop comes under the thin and light category weighing just under 2 Kg.

Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition also has the same 14-inch full HD display, it is powered by a 10th Gen intel core i5/i7 and an Nvidia Geforce MX350 with 2GB of VRAM and 8 GB DDR4 RAM, It has a storage of 512 GB which is available in either SATA SSD or NVMe M.2 SSD. Different from the Mi Notebook 14, Xiaomi provides a USB webcam in the box.

The laptop has a metallic body which is made up of an aluminium magnesium alloy, talking about the ports, it has 2 USB 3.1 ports, one USB 2.0 port, 1 USB type C port which is for both data and charging, it also has an HDMI port and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The 46 Wh battery is claimed to have a life of up to 10hrs in normal conditions.
